electric windows issues

Just looking for some advice on mk3 front electric windows not working. I have changed the driver side switch but still not working. The last time both front windows worked once 6 months ago on old switch by switching on the ignition and pressing button on and off continues and both windows went up and down perfect at once so I know they are not off the rail. where should I look. Both rear windows work perfect.

Also, when I put key on door lock, turn and hold to lock or unlock position, the doors locks/unlocks, the rear windows close/open but nothing happens on front windows?

I would appriciate if someone could point me to the right direction... Many thanks

If you open the door, at the hinged side there is a big rubber tube with wires in. Pull this back and check for broken wires.

ok.. update.. checked the wires between door and body, all good no broken wires. so decided to take the door card off, and played around and fiddled with the motor beating it while pressing the switch button up and down so window started working, going up and down (that is not off the rails) The only problem is.. it works now and again not on regular basis.... does anyone think it would be a better idea to take the whole thing out.. give it a clean.. maybe WD40 it little bit onto mechanism and cables? Passanger side yet needs to be done.

mine does exactly the same! well annoying!! im gonna give it a clean this weekend see if it cures it!!

ok took the whole thing apart on driver door, wd40 it around the motor and cables and connectors, put it back, seems to be working okay. Only once in a while seems to be not working. But the passanger door still no sign of movement and unable to take the motor/mechanism out as windows dont come down in order to unbolt it.
