You are unlikely to need more petrol in the 16V, unless you're driving the tits off it at which point you'll be having a lot more fun than anyone with a 2.0 8V motor.

Best analogy is that as the 8V is thanking the host and going home for a nice cocoa before bed the 16V is cracking open another beer and turning the volume up on the stereo.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

you got the wrong end of the stick.... lol

I meant to fetch a car not to drive it. its in norwich about 300 miles from me thats a hundred quid round trip there plus the gettinghome for the other driver. that makes that car 600 quid and not in my price range and i dont want one thats got bits wrong with it because its i will have to spend more money on top. again just may aswell stick with what ive got.

Ive had golfs for ten years mate i know how much fuel they use lol. I know theres a difference between the 2 aswell mate ive had both in the past I just cant be arsed with the messing about to get a new one and all the bits required when ive got everything i need right here in front of my house

Please don't call me 'mate' - it's intensely patronising and I don't know you from Adam.

You may have been driving Golfs for 10 years, but it sounds like you've been driving the wrong ones, or you're a pussy if you think the 8V is OK in comparison to the 16V.

Good luck nailing your donkeys in.

Oright mate Ill try....

I dont know where you get this info from? Who said ive been driving 8v's if you actually read the thread you will have already established that i have had both in the past... Im not looking for smarmy comments from people that think they know what the whole world wants, i was looking for some advice on putting that enigne in that particular model nothing more... With the greatest amount of respect if you cant comment on that then please dont comment......

Its something for me to do on the weekends, it will cost no more than it allready has I dont dont desperately want to drive the fastst golf in the stoke if i did put a 20vt or a vr6 in its more a a something to do project....
