RSPCA all the way buddy, too many dogs out there that need re-homing without encouraging people breeding them.

there seem to be a lot of chav dogs out there at the moment

whats a Chav Dog Guy I though dogs are dogs?

staffies/terriers that have come from chavs who sadly don't look after them and know their needs, which have been purchased as fashion accessories, innit, to make em look like they have a pitbull, innit... and then abandoned

More to the point. Have you seriously thought about this?  Owning a dog is a commitment for several years.

This.

And don't forget all the extra needs a puppy will have over a slightly older dog. It'll need house training, will nip and generally be a nusiance until they get a bit older. We've had a lurcher pup since christmas, must be 7 months old now? A lot better than she was, but still a lot more difficult than the others we've had.

Rehome a dog, not a pup, pups are ARSEHOLES, trust me, we've had a few. There are so many dogs out there that need a home, we have a Frenchie we've had from a pup, an A Bulldog we adopted an shes nearly 4.

Also as Elvi said, seriously think about it, go with your missus to the centres an find one together.

Trust me though, it aint nice, you end up wishing you could take them all!!
