Ahhh but I have the space for them and a trailer to move them.

Actually, hang on - since last weekend I my wife and I currently have Golf3, Golf Syncro, Passat, Corrado, half an SJ.

You have MX-5 1, MX-5 2, Mini, Rover 75 and Golf.

So I make it that the pair of you have about half a car more than we have.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

There's quite a few:

MED
Swiftune
KAD Engineering (Top end bespoke 16valve stuff)
MiniSport
MiniSpeed
They're the more well-known but there are plenty of others.

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

may be thinking of KAD...

I think it was sort of like what amg do for mercedes?

I think in that case you might mean The Cooper Car Company. That was like AMG is to Merc until BMW bought Coopers.
