Boost leak?
« on: 16 April 2012, 18:50 »
Recently done the n249 n112 sai delete on my 1.8t

before the deletes it was hitting 22psi peak and holding 18psi afterwards i noticed that i had lost 2psi of boost off both peak and the rest of the gear and today seems to of got worse as it won't go past 17psi and in third it dropped off to hold 10psi!

Is this likely to be a boost leak or something else like weak actuator?

the short pipe that joins the pancake pipe to the intercooler is oily as well

Any help appreciated

It's a boost leak and from what you've described the pancake pipe with oil leaking would be the first port of call

Split bit of silicone hose somewhere when you did the deletes?

Only used one piece of vac hose from inlet manifold to the top of the dv so doubt it

Thinking it's going to be the intercooler pipe that's leaking really just seems to of got worse from when i first noticed it lost 2psi initially and now i've lost 5psi

I was thinking the pcv system might be the problem just ordered a catch can and all the pipes etc so hopefully get that sorted this weekend along with the pancake to intercooler pipe

I've replaced so many parts since i've had the golf I don't think it's ever going to end
