Will you be painting the arches and the floorpan before all the parts go back on, or will everything be coming off again when it goes to the bodyshop?

Arches will be going body colour. As for the underneath I could well paint it but I'm not going down that route. It would be great but I'd daren't drive it. Even tho with the new daily I've probably given into the fact this wont be a daily I still don't want to be worried about every stone I here flicking up underneath.

Matt will be covering it with some good old underseal.

Haha, I knew it! I would still be tempted to paint as much of the underside as you can. For one thing, a painted surface is much easier to clean, should you need to. I find that underseal can be washed off with degreaser, thinners and the like. And plus, because it never fully dries I tend to feel it can still let water ingress some how?! My view is, if it's alll seam sealed, gravitex'd and then painted, it offers great protection, that can be cleaned easily, and in turn, is easier to spot damage and correct it before the dreaded sets in!

I feel I should say I told you so about the mk3 not being used as a daily once its finished, but don't worry, I won't ;)

So finally made a pair of US bumpers today. Still got a tailgate and front bumper on its way from USA with DDS but though bugga it and grabbed. I really do have a US addiction!!

Made sure I test fitted it 1st on the future daily. (It may end up on it anyway ;) )

With it now in parts at Balls'd for powdercoating I'm really hoping we are on the finishing straight for the chassis now so I can get it back to my painter for him to work his magic. Got until the last 2weeks of feb to get the exterior n TT dash done as its pencilled in for a retrim with joe @ trim deluxe!! Looks like it could be down to the wire for the 2nd year running for UD2013!!

Hi peeps,

Matt had the Powdercoater return all the parts that we have had done in gloss black. This includes tank straps, brake covers, hubs, rear beam aswell as the outside of the discs and centres (although where the wheel mounts will be cleaned off)

Now that's all back it's on to final assembly. I'm genuinely hoping for it back early next week. Fingers crossed.

Also had this through the post the other day.

Audi flat bottom steering wheel. Just need the centre cover to finish it off. Now has my car got dsg? No! will get a few people wondering but simply the price was too good to turn down.

If anyone knows weather it's possible to get the controls working on the steering to work pm me.

Think it's going to look ace with the TT dash.

Better update next week hopefully ;)
