« on: 13 April 2012, 18:18 »
But,parked my car (2001 1.8t) the other night on a slope switched off the ignition, handbrake on and put the car into reverse because of the slope I was parked on when I returned to the car some 45 mins later I noticed that the reverse lights were on,selected nuetral and the lights went off, surley this isn't right? Anyone shed any light. Thanks. Chambo

seems to remind me of somthing that happend to me . . .

I have to reverse up my drive because it's on a slope and all the fuel runs to the back if I park normally, anyway I was a bit too tipsy (after a pint  :lipsrsealed: ) too reverse in as it's a tricky gatepost at the bottom. I asked my dad to do it for me and while he was reversing there were no reverse lights on even though he was reversing up the slope . . . I thought this rather strange so got him to jump out and check while I put it in reverse. yet again no reverse lights.
there was me thinking that I had two blown bulbs, but dad jumped back in and reversed an the lights started working again

Faulty reverse light switch, dead easy to replace.

If you want to confirm it is the switch, remove the plug and bridge the terminals.
