Airbox piping

Please could someone help with what bit I'm missing intake pipe to the airbox.

Pics would be great and/or part numbers, Its 1988 mk2 golf gti 1.8 16v.

Is that attached to the airbox via a fixing, or is it a moulded part of it.

Not seen that before.

Its a moulded part, I have the rought cut hole but thats all

Yes thats why then most people just stick a flexi tube directly out of the wing or bellow to draw colder air through the lights. Later models just have a hole right at the front which made more sense more away from the engine block hence we mostly just have just an air hole at the front of the airbox to do the same jobbie!.

Rare sh!t though... be proud TBH the heat soak is not going to really make a difference in daily driving plus ours is cheap to produce back then it was a expensive bit of engineering  :grin:
