Little help with mot.....
« on: 10 April 2012, 17:41 »
The golf fail mot wondered if anyone could shed some light on it.

It failed on : exhaust emissions hydrocarbon, exhaust emissions carbon monoxide, exhaust lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits. Any ideas lambda sensor? Coolant sensor?

old car, probably mixture needs adjusting.

New car most likely lambda sensor. But if its a newer car best thing to do is check the fault codes

Could be lambda sensor or coolant temperature sender, are there any other symptoms?
