I need two new front tyres, and found some decent cheap ones on ebay but they have a slightly higher speed rating. is it okay to mix the speed ratings? everything else is the same. i currently have 185/60/R14 82T all round, but the new fronts would be 185/60/R14 82H?

Absolutely fine, higher the better although judging by the tyre and wheel size combo I'm guessing your car isn't likely to be breaking any land speed records anyway.

Its ok to put a higher speed rating than OE just be sure not to put different speed ratings on the same axle.
