Got to agree there better off buying the phone out right,and get sim only contract. The best phone out there at the moment is the 4s, simple to use works like a dream also brilliant CS, dont bother with the HTC's because there pile of rubbish

Dunno what all this nonsense is about buying the phone outright then getting a sim only deal.

I was on a 12 month contract with Vodafone for my iPhone 4 16GB, paid £220 for the phone and £40 a month for the contract. My may makes that £700 over the whole year. My contract consisted of 600 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data.

Buying an iPhone 4S 16GB now outright is £499, a sim only contract that offers the equivalent is £20.50 (with Vodafone), now my math makes that £745.

Think I was £45 better off.

In all seriousness though, I still have my iPhone 4 and am now on a sim only deal with Vodafone costing me £10.50 a month for 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500mb data and 0800/0845 numbers included in my minutes.

Now I have a good sim deal I'll buy the iPhone outright.
