Painting Engine Bits?
« on: 06 April 2012, 22:17 »
Has anybody used paint like this to paint engine bits?  I was thinking of giving it a clean up and a couple of coats of something like this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_175718_langId_-1_categoryId_165495#tab3

Is there any guides of what not to paint etc going about, or should I stay clear and just leave it? :D :D :D

I don't want to dismantle it just do the bits you can see,

thanks,

That stuffs fine. Alternatively, you could use hammerite and you'll get a better finish obviously out of a rattle can. If your gonna paint it in situ though, probs better off with a brush as it will get everywhere otherwise! Just make sure you mask and cover properly.

I used the simoniz silver vht on my cough........ mk3 8v.......................................... :embarassed:

I found it didnt adhere very well at all though. Even after a couple of months being on I could rub my finger over it and get paint dust.  :undecided:
