1.8t AGU clutch time, advice needed.
« on: 06 April 2012, 19:30 »
Right it's time for my Mk4 1.8t AGU to have a clutch replacement as its slipping, now I read loads about the G60 Flywheel and Sachs VR6 Kits but really am struggling to source one, Darkside Developments do the kit and it's like £333 delivered, the only other option I can see is from awesome gti and psi tuning who do the ECS stage 1 kit for £330 delivered, can anyone recommend any other options with links as really wasn't planning on spending that much as from reading people have done this conversion for less than £250?

Cheers.

i'm going to go with ecs stage 1 kit off awesome for peace of mind. i guess you have to be carefull on ebay with fakes, i'm sure are ok but like i say....with the stage 1 ecs you know 100% its sachs clutch and its also a lightweight sm flywheel to which i like the idea of. 22lbs down to 14.

I think I'm going to try and source a g60 or ABF flywheel 1st from a scrappy and then get the new bolts from VW along with a Sachs VR6 clutch kit should all come to less than £200 in parts I reckon. Then hopefully my mate can fit for cheap.

I've got an ECS one the 14lb which is slightly lighter than a ABF, there's a thread on it with be-prime. Brilliant kit also comes with a Sachs clutch. between the stock 21lb dmf is say its not uncomfortable to drive, just more rev happy.
