Having a problem booting my Mac

Yeah, it gives me just the option to load OS X, which is what I'm having to do at the moment.  Problem is it's taking 7 or 8 goes before it'll recognise that I've held the Alt key down.

Cheers, none of them seem to fit the bill though    It's as if the system doesn't recognise the hard drive as bootable...

In that case, backup the contents as the hard drive might be failing. When ou do get it up and running open the disk utility and repair disk to see if it comes up with any errors.

It was fine until I added the extra partition in boot camp to install Windows on. Hasn't booted properly since then. It used to boot to Windows automatically which was really annoying. When I deleted the Windows partition it wouldn't boot at all after.

PM Jay ask hime to log on from his end to your mac , i'm pretty certain he will get it sorted out ?

i turned my pc on this morning. no problems and booted into windows straight away!

Fixed it.  Went to "Startup Disk" and told it to boot from OS X, and now it does
