Replacing glow plugs

Not too familiar with dervs yet, just wondering if glow plugs should be replaced as and when they break or every x miles or as part of each service? I only ask cos I noticed that normally she starts on the button bt took a small amount of cranking and then farted its way into life.

30 seconds once i'd found them - same as replacing spark plugs.

Mine were underneath a black plastic tube which ran along the front of the head and split into 4 going down which were the caps.

You only need to replace them if they're not working, GP's are cheap enough to replace to start finding out why your derv doesn't start very well. Mine was a pig to start, I had replaced the GP's and other consumables, the guy who bought my PD powered Galaxy replaced the flywheel and it starts muchos better. £700 later. For a starting isssue. Glad I sold it and got the V5

There is no definate interval for changing them.
I would suggest changing them every 50k to 60k
