No loom from the factory you will need to take a feed from the interior light.

Whilst we're on the topic, has anyone fitted the sunvisors with electric vanity mirrors in them? I was thinking of doing these as well whilst I'm in the vicinity. I presume you just take a live from the interior light wiring or are the loom connectors already up above the headliner?

Mine is 97 so more than likely the same, as far as im aware it was some of the cabrios and mk4 onwards that had the underflap lit mirrors and then the later ones had a microswitch in the sliding mirror cover which switched on the roof mounted lights either side.

Our B4 cl estate had one. That also had rear discs so may hav been an import of some sort.
Brilliant invention though. And while were at it,
Y has no manufacturers done an electricly ajustable rear view mirror???

Vauxhall omegas had an auto dimming electricly adjustable rear view mirror, i have one to fit in my cav turbo!!

It's funny you should mention them actually as I was checking out the mk4 auto dimming rear view mirrors only last week.
