I thought people where stupid for answering 1 to this sum 40 + 40 x 0 + 1 =
Im no maths whizz and i'd say the answer is 81. But someone with more maths know how than me will tell me im wrong and say the answer is 0.

41 :wink:

It really reads like this: 40 + (40 x 0) + 1

The answer is 41 but no () its a BODMAS rule. Its an order to work out a sum. And the x comes first in this sum. But before that is anything in () so if it was (40+40)x0+1 the answer would be 1
