RCD 510 for sale
« on: 30 March 2012, 23:02 »
Guys,

I do apologise profusely, and I know and I probably shouldn't be posting this here, so I beg for your forgiveness.
I have posted a thread advertising my RCD 510 for sale. I still have it, it's mint, came off the car after ~50 miles and the salesman has provided me with the code. I don't mind fitting it and I've got VAG COM here. I just don't want to stick it on eBay as it's a really nice, mint unit, brand new & would be ashame to let it go to someone who's not on this forum. Also I would get raped with eBay & PayPal fees - no thanks!

If you are interested or know of someone who's interested, please get in touch. I'm located near Nantwich, Cheshire.

Mods, please don't hurt me!  :nerd: :lipsrsealed:

Cheers,
Scott

Sorry mate - I dont understand the advantage of the RCD510 over the RCD310.  That's why I did not order it as an option or am I missing something?

I've got a RCD310.  It has the ipod connection and bluetooth as standard and so it connects easily to any music device and the sound seems fine to my ears.  I use the SatNav through my iphone and bluetooth.   All are easy to use and work very well.  The only thing I'm missing is DAB but I'm not too bothered about that.

Maybe put in on the MK5 forum where they want to upgrade?

I was going to upgrade to rcd510 DAB, then i listened to one and it sounds a bit rubbish to be polite compared to my rcd310 and imo in the flesh the Rcd310 looks better when switched on as the black and white display compliments the interior better.

How easy is it to flick through your iPod with the 310? Do you control it via the 310 or the iPod itself? I am massively tempted Scott, just wonder if all the 510 brings is the SD card and 6 disc, which is largely redundant due to iPod connectivity. Does look much better though

RCD 510 is a much better looking unit , whether it's sound is better than the 310 is debatable.

If you heard the one ive got it's not debatable at all about which one sounds better, its like black and white and im not saying the Rcd310 is that good its just ok, i don't know if their are different makes of the Rcd510 or whatever or mine's a bad apple.

The price might be a bit wrong, I sold mine for £200 on eBay and mine has the video in-put that not all RCD510 have.

IMO the 310 just looks old fashioned and just doesn't compliment the interior. You can find similar head units in all cars these days, and even some 10+ year old cars. The RCD 510 sounds just fine as does my RNS, can not compare to the 310 however as I would never, ever consider one, but each to their own of course.

This has the video input I think, I can double check if anyone's interested. For £200 + eBay fees + PayPal fees I'd rather keep it and sell it with the car + sell the RNS seperately, unless someone is willing to pay more for the RNS.

Cheers for the comments though.

Heard a few people say that they sound different but unless your one of them audiophiles (and i know there is a few on here before you shout at me) the RCD sounds fine to me.

However i'll be getting an RNS soon, who did you get yours from Scott?
