Wheel arch removal

I've been thinking about removing my GTI arch trim's for a while now. Plus they are pretty much faded now. The bodys paintwork is rather good though lol, now 15 yrs old. Anyway, how do I safely go about removing all four wheel arch trim's without damaging the bodywork beneath?

Drill out the rivets underneath and they then should come off.

try a thin coat of boiled linseed oil and watch them gleam!
 tho be cautious of the advisory that cloths can combust **
 this is all assuming that you dont rip the trims off and find a sh*t load of rust

Cheers guy's. That leaves me with both options now lol. I wasn't aware though it was so simple of drilling out the rivot's for removal. I'm very tempted.. But does boiled linseed oil really work on external trim? I'm tempted to give that a go aswell

Remove them and see what the condition of the arches is like then, if bad refit them quick.

boiled linseed oil works well! better than most of the back to black stuff! (dont get on your clothes tho!)

 boiled linseed oil works like a dream..very little goes a very long way and use a lint free cloth
will make all exterior trim look like new
expect to pay about £3-4 for a bottle that will last forever.
and of course if you dont like them after you can just rip them off lol
