Over reving on gear change

Any help pls my 2001 gti turbo over revs a few 100 rpm when I gear change not al the time mainly if a put my foot down. It's aum engine and I have already done the clutch pedal switch with a dealer part
Any ideas cheers

gf has same prob, but even when driving slow........

Yep mine does that also, specially when its getting some beans.

MK4 GTi 1.8T, Black magic, stage one Jabba, Forge Split, filter, sportex race pipe, lowered 25mm.

possible vacuum leak. 9 times out of 10 it'll be the little S-shaped one under the manifold that goes to the pcv.

Would deleting N249 & all associated crap solve that?
