Finally lost my VW Cherry!
« on: 29 March 2012, 12:19 »
Hi Guys & Girls.

After 12-months or so on the darkside with the French GTI I have decided I have reached the age where comfort and reliablity are more important.

Picked up a Mk4 last week. It's tidy enough, but not "the one" to have.......Ahem....2.0l...!

Having been a member of the 205 GTI forum I know what great places they are for advice and general banter, so I look forward to talking to a few of you.

I live in Middlewich, Cheshire. So if there are any meets about then please let me know.

I await the sarcastic mocking.

Sean

Thanks guys.

A French GTI? Pug 205. Fun car, but you wouldn't want to put one backwards through a hedge!

Although probably slightly better than going in head first!

Welcome to the forum... What made you go for the 2.0 then?

Most definitely!

tbh I was after a 2.0 in particular. I was just looking for the best example that I could buy on my very small budget. I looked at examples of all 3 engines, but this was the best by a country mile.

Although technically it's not a 2.0 anymore. I removed the badge 2 days ago!

Ah yes! The pug 205, seen plenty of them round my neck of the woods, thankfully none in a hedge tho...

Round here they tend to be driven by youngster's so I'm sure one will end up in a hedge soon...
