If I find the right wheels ie 5x112s...do I just get wheel spacers to make them flush wit car and don't need to bother wit buying pcd adapters

Not sure what you mean here? Mk6 Golf is 5 x 112, if you find 5 x 112 alloys then you dont need adapters or anything. Apacers are to give them more poke. If your fine wheels that are for talking sake 4 x 100 then you will need 4 x 100 to 5 x 112 adapters but the adapters will also give you more poke

if you buy the right width and offset wheel in the first place you won't need spacers. either way you'll need to know all the measurements of the wheel before you consider which adapters/spacers to buy.
