mk4 track rods

Ok, so on my MOT the nearside inner track rod was identified as having slight play.  I'm looking to get it sorted, however want to check that the following assumptions are correct.

1.  I need to replace the offside and near side together ideally
2.  I'd be as well off replacing the track rod ends as well (the current ones are 12 years old)

Then a wheel alignment afterwards.

yes to both as the bits are cheap then atleast u know there ok  :smiley:

eurocar parts cheap as cheaps and a piece of pi$$ to do yourself if uve got a little mechanical knowledge dont forget to get it tracked up after mind u !!!
aum no spec as no matter what i do il never be happy

Cheers Rich, still on the pricey side.  Need to save my pennies as I'm moving apartment next month to somewhere with rent twice as expensive  :undecided:

Pretty much,  Rent is £350 at the moment, rent in the new place is £625!
