central locking issues
« on: 24 March 2012, 21:05 »
right well here goes... recently developed a fault with the golf basically noticed the other day that the indicator on drivers side mirror stopped working was just gonna get a new one but then the central locking developed a fault pres fob and it operates all doors apart from drivers door can still use key in lock to operate though... bit the bullet and took it into dealers for a diagnostics, now apparently it needs 2 new front door locks as apparently passenger side is showing an intermittant fault but is still working, also the drivers side mirror doesnt adjust either so apparently this needs a new door control module,

was just wondering if anyone had had similar issues with theirs, stealers want £225 per door lock fitted and the door module is £200 just to buy so this could work out being a tad expensive

so any info would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Pop down to Statllers on Attercliffe Road and see if they agree?

VW will always try and buy new modules even if it is only a loose connection - Gilders?

Yeah gilders said both locks but only drivers one playing up am sure it doesn't need both and I reckon it may just be a loose wire or something might try that place then as have got car booked in at stealers for Thursday so if I could save some £ would be a bonus

well it went into stealers and had 2 new door locks and ended up having door control module in drivers door, however went to pick it up friday and they said yeah thats everything fixed so i paid then went out to car and drivers window didnt work... got told to take it back in today for em to look at it, and its been diagnosed with a broken window regulator..... its getting done free of charge though as they have broken it.... so am currently driving the managers car as they dodnt have any courtesy cars available lol
