HELP - VW MKIII Driver (My first golf)
« on: 23 March 2012, 23:15 »
I've recently bought a MKIII golf "M" reg, I've recently had some troubles with the car since I tried to start her with the spark plugs earthed to the rocker cover with a screw driver placed on there (wasn't me  ). But since smoke appeared I've not once been able to start her again.

As soon as I attempt to tick her over I just getting a ticking noise from down by the fuses. Unaware of what it could be as I've tried it with all of the relays out seperately.

Any help will be appreciated and soon enough ill grab a few pictures of her ;)

Thanks

Daniel

Are you saying someone turned it over with a spark plug out and a screwdriver was in the equation, shorting the spark to the rocker cover?

sounds like you could of shorted something, you say you only get clicking from relays, find an electrical manual, check fuses, replace starter relays, check you havent got any fried wiring, if you see burnt wires you could be in for a new loom
