 hi guys im new to the forums so sorry if i post this in the rong place.

i have a v reg mk4 golf turbo mods r remaped & turbo boosting 1.0 bar.

wen i start the car up its smoke free but about 3 mins later abit of thin white smoke comes out. now i was told this is normal :S..
when i drive the car theres no smoke at all .

but afta iv drove the car if i stop while the car is on a min or 2 later very small amount of blue smoke comes out , once i rev the car it clears up but another min or 2 it comes out again ..

Any idea what this is?.. iv only had the car for a month an iv given it a full service 0.o

Blue smoke is oil being burnt so turbo seals or valve stem seals.

Im going to have to get mine done soon I think as I'm having fairly similar symptoms. However mine doesn't smoke constantly like yours I have to let mine idle for a few minutes then its like it builds up in the exhaust and then if you rev it or move it clears then the process occurs? What does everyone think?

I would break it down to possibly

Head gasket
Cylinder head skim
Timing belt
Water pump
Valves decoked
Valve seals

?

Only really needs doing if the head gasket fails.

and youve been stupid enough to cook it. just keep running it nd regularly check the oil, if it gets worse then you can either whip the head off and send it to get done or drop another engine in. joys of working on a car that isnt worth thousands
