New engine
« on: 22 March 2012, 14:21 »
Went to view a car today and apparently it has had a new engine put in. Any rules as to what this actually involves?? does it have to be recorded on the v5 or any other documentation??

How would you know if the engine was.... well kosher?

Hopefully it would have all the paperwork to back it up and you could check the numbers. And if it was done under warranty you can check with the dealer who carried it out an all that jazz.

should be declared to the dvla, ide give them a quick call and ask them if its been declared.

if it has then it sounds ok, and while your on the phone ask them about all the paper work?
