I had bridgestone Potenzas on my MKV GTI. Utter rubbish tyre. Noisy and I suffered premature wear and sidewall cracking with them.
The Dunlops on my MK6 seem much better, but I think I'll try Goodyear F1's or Michelins next time, which seem to get v good reviews.

I've got Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2s fitted to my 18" shadows and there excellent!!

This has been discussed many times before they are noisy.
Try a search
My 17s are about 500% more noisy than mkvikens 18s when I drove his last week.
But the 18s were an A version. Also his has done 5000 less miles than mine

My mk5 GT had Bridgestones on the standard 17" Classix wheels. They were very noisy! I was hoping my GTD wouldn't come with Bridgestones but unfortunately, it did, so I'm expecting them to be just as noisy as the miles are clocked up.

When they need replacing, it certainly won't be with another set of Bridgestones; Most likely to be Goodyear F1's or Michelins.

I swapped my winters over last weekend so I'm back on the Bridgestones. My wife commented on how much noisier the car was without any prompting and she never notices things like that. Speaks volumes about the tyre in my opinion. Spinning them up in the wet in 2nd/3rd gear is too easy with them as well, so I agree the grip is kak as well

I find the standard bridgestones very good. They need to be warm to work but I find them a good tyre

Not as good as the sportcontact3 but they seem to last longer.

The bridgestones a a little noisy but very hard wearing, they'll last longer than most.

I have to admit they are noisey, but at current Micheln PS3 wear rates the Bridgestones will last nearly twice as long on the front. Wont be buying the PS3s again at £140 a tyre £20 more than the Bridgestones.
Where do you get the 18" Potenza RE050A's for £120? I just paid nearly £163.30 each for them [That's fitted, balanced and new valves]

I have just fitted Continental Sport Contact 5 all round.
I had the PS3s before but the Continental were only £120 fitted.

Have done about 300 miles so far and very impressed in all conditions.
I was coming from the winters so hard to compare with the Michelin that I took off last November.
Will be interesting to see how they wear but noise levels are good
