First Adult Passport?
« on: 20 March 2012, 18:39 »
hi guys, made a bit of a balls up with my timing on my application for my first passport. They say allow the thing to arrive etc. within 4-6 weeks, however, I travel in 7 weeks and don't really fancy staying at home instead...

What are other people on here's experiences with the passport process? I sent the form off last week, so we're looking at around 8 weeks time allowance.

My brother got his all sorted within a 3 weeks, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed mine will be the same!!

Any info helpful

You can go to the passport orfice and que up for it in a day.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Post Office check and send service:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Passports/Applicationinformation/DG_174154

They make sure that there are no mistakes (thus minimising the chance of your form being returned and therefore wasting time). The last time I used it I had my passport back within 2 weeks.

it'll be fine.. they usually quote longer time periods than they take.

if it gets to within two weeks then chase it.

did you use check and send from the post office?

Hey mate, thanks for the reply. direct.gov website reckons otherwise as I'll have to attend an identity interview.

Also yep used check and send, seemed a worthy £8 to spend! Just getting a bit on the nervy side as I don't fancy having wasted £500 on a holiday I cannot attend lol
