I am a new member to the forum.

i just wanted to make a small coment on the above because it got locked before i could post it...

i'm not taking sides in any way, i'm a complete neutral, but i had such a giggle reading through this thread (if anyones down atm, jus read that post... it's bound to put a smile on ur face!)

anyway.... i cant see y fredflinstone received such a down pour of malicious abuse, when in my opinion he wasn't really in the wrong! u see, when you re-read it, he isn't actually calling anyone a boy racer, he is making a sugestion as to y he had little/no support for his post... and i couldn't agree more with him that this could be a reason for it

i think that the reaction he got from this coment was one of denial, and was only esculated by that fact that non of you can admit u r a boy racer.... let be honest, if you mod your car in any way shape or form... your a boy racer... end off! so the fact that none of (the members that argued in the post im talking about) could accept his perfectly ligitamate comment, highlights that fact that your ashamed of the lable 'boy racer' being over your head.

now i didn't want to start another big arguement, but just to get that point over..... as i didnt get a chance in the original.

To say that anyone who "mods their car in any way shape or form" is a boy racer, is a very sweeping statement, that is going to get a reaction.
Does this mean that a Film star who tints the windows on his car, for privacy, is a boy racer, or the parents who put a DVD in the back for the kids is about to start doing donuts on the weekly shopping trip, or even the OAP who uprates the security on his car, wants to go cruising up and down the high street with his bass wound up?
I think my point is made - not everyone with a modification to their car is a boyracer, but then - not everyone with access to the internet should be allowed to express their opinion.....especially if it is ill conceived as yours!

yeah explain because i did not understand that comment either, just because have changed couple of things on my car does not mean am a boy racer, you can not say your a boy racer just because vehicle is modified, wat about the the pr1cks who drive there 1 litre novas about with no modifications, are these not classed as boy racers, have never thrashed my car so how can i be classed as a boy racer, think most of the people here are entusiasts not boy racer idiots

Guys..hes baiting you..ignore.i mean are you really gonna be bothered what someone who cant even spell motorsport says? This topic is dull now..i actually had a few pms between the guy,Fred,and i think its a shame that this hasnt been dropped..we're better than this people...can we ignore please?i mean even freds post on cgti has been removed...maybs this one should be too?
