Boot handle replacement

After fixing the leaking wiper motor and corroded latch about 2 years ago, I thought it was about time I did the corroded boot handle seeing as I had bought the handle at the same time and had all the paint etc.!

Part number 1J6 827 565 B GRU.

Gave the already primed handle a few coats of indigo blue:



Re fit when the paint is fully hardened just hope the barrel comes out of the old handle ok lol.

cool mate, should look better with the new one. I caught my wiper motor before it did any real damage to the handle luckily

Yeah you were lucky bud mine had such a small leak I didn't know about it until the boot light stopped working  :sad:

mine too but its buggard the barrel and compleatly seised it. tried everything and cant get it to budge so saving up to go smooth on boot

Removed the old part today,the barrel was corroded into the housing and i managed to brake the outer part of it  :angry: And you can't buy just the part i need you have to get the whole barrel  :angry: :angry: :angry:

Whole new lock £39 + the vat  :angry: I could look for a S/H part however thay are likley to be the same and there are loads of parts to take off little springs - i know i will fook it up  :laugh:
