Some of theses 1.8t figures seem abit high or people are driving them like there granny,my dads old 1.8t would average about 25-28 round town and 35 on a run and he is 62 years old drives slow.Even the diesel figures are high its very rare I see 55mpg in mine unless I do say 70 to 75 mph on a run and dont move off that speed round town driving in mine say £50 of v-power derv I would get around 400 odd miles and thats not driving it like a 80 year old granny...

Low signal from MAF so i need a new MAF and i've had about 33mpg around town, and 37mpg on a motorway run.

just done 150 miles from full tank to 3/4 tank

in my fabia
the petrol gauge in my golf is sh!t, I fill up on monday, and manage 2 1/2 trips to work on half a tank (apparently),.  1 1/2 trips later, its empty :-) go figure

I thought I'd finish this thread off, as I undoubtedly had to fill up. I took this pic of my speedo just as I had pulled into the fuel garage...

Not quite the elusive 600, but nor was it completely empty. I've never pushed the fuel tank to its limit, and I'm not going to, as I don't want issues with my car. I am confident in saying that I'm certain it would have gone to 560 (if cruising and not driving like a mad man )

For anyone wondering the set up: 115PD engine (not mapped), piper cross panel filter with smoothed box, milltech decat, and milltech resonated R32 style exhaust

when my diesel light comes on Ive still got 60 miles to go till empty, but I once done a Top Gear Challenge and went 50 miles past 0 before I bottled it and filled up. 700 miles out of a full tank I reckon is achievable with steady driving and some balls
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

It was varied driving, with 2x5mile 'city' journeys made daily during the week, followed by some motorway cruising at the weekend, and a little bit of B road fun! I think if I was to fill up and cruise up to Helmsdale in Scotland, I'd make it on one tank!

This has got TopGear written all over it!
