Rich smelling exhaust?
« on: 18 March 2012, 20:44 »
Just picked up my 90 mk2 8v today and Ive noticed that the exhaust smells very rich, is this normal or does it need some adjustment? On the 100 mile trip home it averaged 40.8 mpg on the mfa so I dont think its overfueling?

The mfa's do lie best to fill it right up and then do say 100 miles, re fill and work out mpg from there.

They are very good on fuel on a run mid 40's if driven sensibly is not uncommon.

Yours is a Digi so they are not adjustable, try a new temp sender.

There's a guide in the how to and it says about adjusting the CO level, is this not it?

Well yours is a digi so I don't think it is adjustable as it is controlled through the ecu.
