Drivers door lock barrel?

Do you know anything about the locking problem I'm having?

Soon as I lock the drivers door it doesn't open again until I break back into it, is it because I got the wrong lock mechanism it's causing it to lock down?

All I wanted to know if the barrels was the same, will have a go tomorrow and hopefully all goes well

Though they look very similar, the locks have different parts numbers on vagcat, so I'd say no.

Problem sorted now

Took my car to a VW breakers near where I live, he got a spare barrel and cut it to my key, 3 hours labour and new bits and pieces that were missing from behind my door card all for 90 quid, well worth it
