Should I buy this GTD?
« on: 17 March 2012, 18:53 »
Hi, I have been offered my partners 09-59 black GTD 3dr with 18 inch wheels and parrot bluetooth company car for 8 grand. I cannot have it until Sept so it will be 3 years old when I get it. It will have roughly 60k miles on it. The miles are motorway miles and it has been looked after and it has been serviced with VW at proper intervals. The reason I am asking now is I am thinking of changing cars and if it is worth it, I will wait till Sept for the Golf, if not I will change before then. Also, I do a lot of miles, so it still be worth much if I sell it on again at say 90k miles?
Cheers Paul

The THP engines from Peugeot/Citroen/Mini have had loads of issues, I know 2 people who have rejected their racing editions due to the THP engine problems. The racing is also way too expensive at 24k new its silly money for a small Citroen - so thats probably why they are scarce!

I have never driven a golf since my 1st two cars in 1989 a 1.1 golf C and a Golf 1.3 GL which I loved. I have driven a Leon FR 170 tdi which was extremely fast!

You sure it's a GTD sounds iffy to me, maybe it's a diesel GT. If it is a GTD and its legit HPI clear etc, rip their arm off.
GTI manual PP, now sold  :-(

Lol, its definately a GTD and legit, my partner ordered it using works scheme and its got an 8 grand final buy price. Like a pcp i suppose!
It has the greeny tartan interior like a gti and the GTD badge so I would hope it is one!
Only a few responses but it sounds good then.
cheers
