^Oi !

I like my Octavia.

For price comparison, my 2007 Octavia estate was under £6k with 40k on the clock. I found it quite tricky to find a decent diesel Octavia with decent miles around that price. So for £8k you should be able to find one. I plumped for the petrol 1.6 FSI engine instead. Very good on petrol, can very easily get 40mpg.

Time has finally come (well two weeks) that the familly are getting a derv estate. Passat sized.

Mum wants to spend round 6ish but I reckon they'd push for 8.

Don't want any more then 60k miles. Dad wants a Passat or an Audi although I've been put off with Adam's issues.

Then a Honda accord 2.2 Estate popped up, what are they like size wise? Probably pretty damned bombproof, no?

What would you get?

Honda is a nice car, we have one as a pool car at work.
Like all modern cars they are cheap to run until something goes wrong, get a warranty

Skoda Octavia vRS 170TDI estate.

Old boy has one from new, cracking all rounder in standard form and I enjoy driving when the opportunity presents. You almost hope to get stuck behind slow moving traffic on B-roads so you can overtake with ease. If driven sensibly you can even get decent mpg I've heard

Just watch out for EGR valve issues... :lipsrsealed:

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
