words alone cant comment on how happy you will be.

if you ask questions they will give you feedback about your car. all i can say is give them a go.

If its custom mapping we are doing we dont speak much as we are logging, number crunching and editing maps, I even more so if thew car has a list of fault we have to put right or diagnose. The dyno is on fans running plus I am going deaf...lol  We cannot afford to be side tracked,  If its a stright forward generic remap then we tend to have more time to chat.  Most other tuning housing your shut out behind closed doors and cannot see whats going on.

If we finish before the next job comes in we will show customer around the car, dyno, show them there maps and logs and explain whats going on.  But some jobs we dont have time afterwards, in a lot of cases we have spent 1.5hours patching up boost leaks and PCV leaks and no extra charge just to get a stock power run.

Our priority is the getting the car logged, tested and tuned safe, all of our findings anf faults are listed on the invoice.

A nice anount of time spent on the dyno tuning (which is what your paying for) or stand around chatting about what to do next to go bigger power?

When I went up with my mate to get his R32 Skyline mapped at Abbey Motorsport we were ushered out of the workshop and just literally had to wait in the office on a couple of uncomfortable chairs while the guy in there worked his magic. We didn't see the car until the mapping was done and shown it on a power run. We could hear it though lol

some great info there Nick thanks. and i can completely understand.

my apologies if the thread seems as though its stirring. it hasn't meant to. i have seen a massive amount of positive feedback (especially from members on here) about R-Tech and just wanted to quell any reservations in the back of my mind.

other than some of the bits previously mentioned in the thread, are there any other bits you recommend sorting prior to booking a visit? at present the car is stock, but i would be looking to get a forge 008 dv and piper cross panel filter (both of which i think you recommend on your webpages). if they are purchased from yourselves, do you fit them as well? just so i know whether to purchase in advance and fit myself or whether to order from you for fitting on the day.

thanks for everyones time - it is really helpful to get so much information and feedback. i have liked the idea of a remap for ages, but had so many reservations - extra wear on the turbo (its a ko3 agu with 148k on the clock - although drives like new), clutch, pipes, and then other installs that people have recommended (like a catch can)

have a good weekend all
