New Mattress

We've had our memory foam for about 4 years now, and desperately need a new matress! We bought it just before I went on a 6 month deployment, came back and it had sculpted itself to my missus lying in the middle, so no matter what we do (spin it round and stuff) we always tilt in!  Its absolutely true! It does retain heat far more than sprung matresses, I've just realised it now actually and never really though about it.  IMO their lifespan is less than a sprung matress, its no longer very supportive, and no longer gives us the good nights sleep that we once had. 

Yes.. similar to what the lady told me. She also said with the cost of memory foam many get more money for selling them. Nice of her to be honest with me. The new pocket sprung has a 10yr guarantee.

although at the time it had 33% off... plus we had a sh!t load of S&M vouchers because someone might have accidently signed us up for sky HD to watch F1 on 

so its kinda a mix between memory foam and pocket sprung... it also has 'coolmax' whatever that is and doesn't get too hot... although I get very hot at night anyway... I sleep next to the open window and the mrs (who would be cold even when it is baking hot) sleeps away from the window shielded from any cold air by my lump of a body 

the difference we have also found is the quietness... doesn't make a sound when you roll over or sit on the edge of the bed to get up and go and take a slash.. i was always disturbing the mrs when I rolled over... now I don't get any ear ache when I move as the mattress isn't creaking...

.. plus the mattress doesn't make a sound anymore when its a high day or a holiday so small people in adjacent rooms are not disturbed

Our memory foam mattress is about 5 years old now, possibly older, and hasn't sculpted either of us in it. It goes back to normal shape within seconds, just retains the heat in that spot which makes it 'sculpt' to your body more quickly than when cold Ours has a 10 year guarantee, so fairly confident in it for a while longer   and it didn't cost that much, other mattresses of the same spec & size were double the price so we got a brilliant deal with it imo


^^ Going point about the noise too, I forgot how noisy normal mattresses were

That looks like a good one Guy. The habitat ones are also very good from the ones I got to try despite not having anywhere near as many springs.

The combination ones are supposed to offer the best of both if you dont mind the heat aspect.

didnt pay anywhere near that price though... my local Pratts were surprisingly much much cheaper and got rid of my old one also.

worth getting a better one... you will notice the difference after day 1. Its not so much that I couldnt sleep on my old one, the new one just offers so much more support I virtually bounce out of bed feeling totally refreshed.
