Bloody hell, gutted for you mate, it really is easy to get these out I was surprised when I changed mine, especially if you couldn't give a sh*t about the car!!! Fu*king scum!! out of interest, where was it parked?

Our drive is approx 100ft long and has a 90 degree bend in it, it was parked on the drive but around the corner from the house. I'd been out that night so a fog horn wouldn't have woke me. A neighbour did say she heard the alarm going off...twice, but decided she would roll her fat arse over and go back to sleep rather than look out the window.

Why oh why did VW make them so easy to remove. It's like getting back to the days of the 80's Cavalier, where the decent stereos could be whipped out in no time. The whole reason the car industry moved to unique fit and difficult to remove radios

very bad news, get her fixed up and get back to enjoying yout GTI.

+1 for Carpet tack on the back edges!  though legally you have to have a sign up!  Else you get a stolen radio and get to be sued.  I love this world!!

Sorry to see what happen to your GTI!

Just a shame that the punishment in this country for scum who did this sort of thing is so soft! :angry: Its not just money, it also cause the victim time and emotional upset!

Your case reminds me to be careful where I park my car (lock up in garage at night+park in places where lots of people about!)

If they were going to break the window anyway why do all the damage to other parts  :angry: A simple window and stereo wouldnt have been as difficult or expensive to replace. mindless cnuts never the less!
