More rust on my mark 5

Dont know whats going on with the car but thats another 4 spots of rust that have appeared.


Anyone else had these problems?

you've got paint damage on yr boot which wont help. where are the other spots?

On the drivers door hinge and near side back bottom part of quarter panel.


I had the bubbling on the arches last year and both were renewed under warranty.

How did the paint get chipped away on the badge? Exposing the bodywork to the elements will speed up rusting especially during winter with the salt on the roads.

What year isit?

Nevermind, just saw your sig. Was the car yours from new? Kept garaged?

wouldnt be too worried about the surface rust, wet&dry it and apply some touch-up. looks nast around badge so spend some time fixing that, use the primer and surface coat

I just hand washed it and it fell away on my mit.


Its just happened tonight but thats where the water gathers and in the West of Scotland theres lots  :grin:


I have had it from 2009 and its kept outside absolutely gutted. Its becoming a pile of sh!te.

Im hoping the 12 year bodywork warranty will help me digging deep in my pocket.

If the paint thickness is like my ed30 bootlid ,which is extremely thin or non existent , then that doesn't surprise me.

I try to repair a long stratch in my bootlid with wet n dry, only to find within a dozen light rubs the white primer started to show :angry:
