Fumes in cabin

Ive just bought a golf Gt tdi 115 6 speed When I got the Flexi down pipe was split and the car was really gassy inside, do I bought a new down pipe and fitted it, the problem is I can still smell fumes in the cabin, its not leaking from the exhaust Ive had a good feel round there and held my hand over the end and it pressures up, but still cant see where its leaking from,
please any advise would be much app

Could it be around the manifold, allowing gasses into the cabin filter?

Check all your breather hoses are ok and not split.
