i am pretty sure they are in the head. You cant see them without a strip down.

correct, a lot to strip out too 

 and you will need a special tool/ puller to get them out too

You need a dial caliper to set them up putting them back in as well

cheers guys, yeah i thought thats where they were but wanted to make sure before stripping em out absolute pain in the arse, anyone know any rough prices? havnt got that far yet lool... EGR valve off just for 1 bolt on the rocker

For the injectors?  You're looking at at least £400 per injector

I thought they rarely fail? Usually its a pump,turbo or FPR issues?
So a 2.0 TDI MK5 engine injectors would be more then....

Fuel Regulator Pump (FRP) Or Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR)
