my mate has a 20vt and when he hit the brakes the other day to avoid a collision his golf started running on 3 cylinders ,having changed the coil packs and checking with a diagnostic nothing is coming up any one help thanks

Has he checked the crank position sensor?
Also follow each wire from the coil packs to see if the sudden braking damaged any wires.

hi no we havnt checked the crank sensor weve checked the wiring and there is no spark getting to no 3 cylinder its a 99 on a t plate with agu engine ,,,weve changed the coil packs
