I appreciate that it would be very expensive but what money are we talking to retro fit genuine VW xenons with the washers and associated parts to work like they were on the car from new?

Has anyone successfully done this?

I have done this although I already had the winter pack so the washers were fitted.

Total cost ended up about £1200, so about the same as the factory fit option.

Follow the big thread HERE which includes my parts list.

The big thing is that is dependant on getting the parts are if you end up not getting them cheap then the parts cost near enough £1500. Then unless your skilled you would have to get someone to do it. I spoke to a few people and if you want to do the job properly with auto levelling and such i cant see it being done all in for less than £2000 - £3000

+1, my MK6 had Halogens and went for Nightbreakers and made a big difference over std. Now I have Xenons on the ED35 I can see why you would want them however got to be desperate to want to spend £K's on upgrading just the lights. Better spent on making the car faster, stop and handle better IMO.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

The good thing about retrofitting them myself is that when I go to trade the car in I will just return it to standard Halogens and sell off the complete kit, so will probably end up costing me very little
