Personally I could never see what the fuss is over Xenons. However now that I have them on my ED35 I can see that the night time performance is fantastic. The fairy lights are not really neccessary as the headlights would do a better job during the day. Would I pay the high price for them that VW charge over the STD halogens, NO. In my last GTI's I just changed the H7 bulbs for Osram Nighbreakers and they worked really well and for £25 a real improvement over STD. If you want the look then its a case of just paying up, but those aftermarket ones look naff stick with OEM.

Your right - stopped off at local VW dealers today, normal Halogens looks great, and I will swap out the bulbs as you suggest.  I guess there is no replacement for the DRL bulbs yet? There I go again...

Guys, I have a 2010 GiT with the read LED's but didn't go for the Xenon's up front and am kicking myself for it. The wife has a new Polo with Xenon's and the difference is amazing, especially as this city boy now lives out in the sticks where there are many unlit A & B roads.
Kenny has retrofitted fron Xenon's with LED DRL's and I have found the same ones as he purchased from a company in (wait for it)......yes. China and they are for right hand drive.

I have tried to contact the company for a single purchase but have had no response, probably because I am only wanting to buy one set.
A group buy may change all this however.........?

Let me know if you are interested and I'll contact them for multiple sets

Can't fault these lights guys! Still problem free and look OEM and plug n play for halogen users. Two sellers on eBay just now, search item number 270915763720 and 160746339447

Thanks Kenneth, it was the first one which I have tried to contact. Maybe I should just 'buy it now' and drive up to the land of the Scots and ask you to fit (for as much as you can drink in return, of course)

The guys from Hong Kong has finally responded (the first of Kenny's ebay link). He says that they are built for left hand drive but are easily converted to RHD, which backs up what both Kenny and a VW specialist has also said and they would also pass legal requirements such as MOT's.
He has quoted $600 + $100 (shipping) for a set. At todays conversion rates to USD's thats approx £382.50 + £63.75 (shipping) plus the added cost of fitting (if you are as lame as I am )

Wish I had gone for the option when I ordered the GiT !!

I appreciate that it would be very expensive but what money are we talking to retro fit genuine VW xenons with the washers and associated parts to work like they were on the car from new?

Has anyone successfully done this?
