brake light problem

i have a golf mk5 and my rear brake lights left and right do not work but the bar still does, ive checked the bulbs and fuses
and still no luck, any suggestions?

i had the same problem on mine just the other  week turned out it was a broken cable from the roof into the tailgate simple fix just locate the broken or damaged wire and re solder
