Mine is £215 a year as it was registered 2months too early (Jan 2001)! They implemented the 'new' system for cars registered March 2001 and upwards

Its gone up again? Mines due soon. Its gone the past two years

both my pd130 golf is £115 a year
and my galaxy with vw pd115 engine is £190 a year  both manufactered in the same year

if they are emission based shouldnt they be around the same and if so how come the 115 when fitted in a galaxy gives out more emmisions?  than the same engine fitted in a golf?

i can understand it pulls a bigger car around, but i thought emissions was done with a machine from the exhaust.
i think its all a big scam not just emission based

The bigger car means engine works harder to pull it, the harder the engine works the more emissions you get. Thus priced higher tax.
