Adding OEM Bluetooth
« on: 05 March 2012, 23:53 »
I know there are a number of topics but none seems to cover it. I want to add OEM Bluetooth, have a 310 which I don't really want to change, and don't really fancy doing it myself (time/inclination and no Vag COM).

I know the 510 brings a better user interface, but I only really want the recive calls, and make the odd one to a recent number. I find the same set up in my wife's Seat Alhambra works well enough.

So what do I buy? And who do I have do it?

There are a couple of companies that advertise in VW Driver mag, but they seem to be very expensive, and when I called them for some advise, most unhelpfull.

I've just fitted a secondhand kit in my car, but am having a minor issue with it, that I think maybe wiring related, and am struggling to find someone that will help me. If you do find someone to do yours, please send them your way.

I would spend the extra £250 and upgrade your radio to the RCD510. There are plenty of "as new" ones on ebay. It will make full use of the phones features all operated very easily from the touch screen, rather than having to scroll through your address book one at a time and dial numbers using the steering wheel buttons on the DIS.

Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
