Will and 8v system fit on a 16v..?

As the question says..?

I bought a complete Milltek system (manifold back) from Big Boys Toys at Inters this year, and after having to wait weeks for it to arrive, I've today come home and found they've sent me a system for an 8v car. I drive a 16v.

Will this fit on my car...? - I've a feeling I've read somewhere before that it wont due to different bore sizes.

Car is a mk 2 by the way.

offer it up to the car and have a look im not sure about the bore sizes i know the 16v has an extra silencer but cant think of why it actually wouldnt unless the downpipe is bigger than the exhaust if you know what i mean

Yeh I know what u mean veedub.

If possible, I dont want to take it out of the packaging without knowing that it's definitly going to fit, as I might have to send it back and I dont have any tape or more bubble wrap if its needed.

the diameter on the 8V & 16v downpipe are different.

u need to either fit an 8v downpipe, or get a reducer pipe - which can be bought from VAG from what i remember

as far as I know the 8v & 16v downpipes are the same, its the system after the downpipe that is different.  I could be wrong though, I'll double check on ETKA tonight.

Looking at ETKA you're right, in fact the KR downpipe is completely different as it has a silencer attached to it! Oh well eh

it aint even a silencer as such, it was just a cheaper way of making two pipes join into one

Interstingly the cat downpipe has the same part # for both the 8v & 16v, and cuts off where the 16v downpipe silencer is.
