Hella or Valio?

hi i need to buy a new passenger side rear lamp for my 09 mk6 golf.

does anyone know how i can tell the difference if its a hell light or a valio?

anyone got any pics of the two different kinds of lights?

To the untrained eye they will look identical, but if you take yours out, it will have Hella or Valio stamped somewhere on the back of it.

What madel of Golf do you have? Don't forget that GT and GTI's have the slightly darker "Cherry Red" coloured lights.

If I were you, I'd go to your local TPS and let them find the correct light matched to your reg number.

its a mk6 se 09 plate.

I've phoned up VW and they can't tell me what light it is by my license plate i just don't know where to look on the lamp??

There should be no reason they can't find it from your reg number, unless you have a private place. They ought to be able to get it 100% correct if you give them the chassis number.

As I said before, if all else fails, take the light out and have a look. It'll take 2 minutes.

+1, whip it out, it'll tell you in the manual how to do it as you'd need to remove it to change a bulb.
